At The Fox Shop we have tested a number of Ultrasonic devices and the FoxWatch unit is the only one that we are prepared to put our name to. Don't be fooled by cheaper models or those that claim to deter a range of different species. FoxWatch is the most successful ultrasonic fox deterrent ever invented, and the reason is simple; Uniquely, each time the fox approaches its body heat and movement are detected and activate an ultrasound alarm (calibrated to be extremely loud to foxes ears but inaudible to humans and other animal species). As the fox retreats the alarm stops and in this way the fox learns to associate its movement with the noise and give a wide berth to the protected area of over 1,350sq ft.
Other ultrasonic fox deterrents do not do this. They simply emit a random or permanent ultrasound signal regardless of whether a fox is present or not. As a result any passing fox soon realises the constant sound of the alarm is not caused by them and therefore becomes immune to its effects.
Inaudible to humans and harmless to all species.

How do your units work?
Our units have a PIR (Passive Infra Red) sensor installed and are activated by the movement of body heat – this triggers a 5 second ultrasonic burst, which will repeat until the animal leaves the protected area.
How long do they take to work?
We advise giving 2 to 4 weeks before results are achieved, however, in extreme cases, it can take up to 3 months.
Up to what distance do your units detect?
Foxwatch detects up to 12 m (40 ft)
What area do your units cover?
Foxwatch covers an area of up to 125 sq m (1,350 sq ft)
Are your products weatherproof?
Foxwatch is waterproofed; the internal circuitry is sealed
How long does a battery last?
A Duracell battery should last approx. 2-3 months. This may vary depending on the traffic in the garden as our units are activated by the movement of body heat. We advise switching the unit off if you are outdoors for a long time to preserve the battery life.
The unit is flashing – Please ensure a New Duracell battery has been inserted into the unit, this generally solves the problem.
The unit is flashing when run from the mains adaptor – Please ensure there are no cuts in the wiring of your mains adaptor. If so, you will need to buy a replacement mains adaptor, as cuts to the wiring are not covered by the manufactures warranty.
If the above two points do not apply - has the unit been in a large downpour of rain, if so, please bring the unit inside for 24 hours to dry. If after the following points have been carried out, please return the unit with your name, address and contact number, stating the fault and the manufacturer will inspect your unit.
The unit is activating, but the foxes are not being repelled.
The unit can take 2-4 weeks for the animal to associate the noise they do not like with entering your garden, and sometimes longer than this. We recommend having the unit in place for at least this time, before coming to the conclusion the unit is ineffective.
Sometimes it is recommended that the unit is placed in a plant pot to give it extra height. This will ensure more of the animal’s body is detected by the unit, especially when it comes to foxes.
